SEQUIM –– Olympic Theatre Arts players will present a Dungeness Valley-inspired mystery in a radio play without the radio when they stage “The Case of the Case of the Missing Lavender” tonight.
The July 4 production, this month’s edition of the theater’s Unusual Evenings in Sequim, features a mystery — to hype the upcoming production of “Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure” — about lavender, which will dominate the valley when the Lavender Weekend takes over July 18-20.
The free production will be in the Gathering Hall at Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave., beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“This month’s ‘An Unusual Evening in Sequim’ is a collaborative effort by writers and actors,” said Sharon DeLaBarre, member of the OTA board and productions committee.
“Local writers Tom Darter, Heidi Hansen and Karen Hogan created the story; Karen Hogan wrote a draft of the script, then worked with actors E.J. Anderson and Danny Willis and Heidi Hansen and Tom Darter to bring it to the stage.”
The show will run July 11-27 and will be the closing production for Olympic Theatre Arts’ 2013-14 season.
