PORT ANGELES — Two people were transported to Olympic Medical Center following a head-on collision west of Port Angeles.
Kelly Shea, 53, of Woodburn, Ore., was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 238 in a 2018 Mercedes-Benz about 9:59 p.m. Thursday when she crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on, the State Patrol said.
A 17-year-old female from Port Angeles was driving a 2007 Subaru Impreza eastbound, the State Patrol said.
Both vehicles came to rest partially blocking the eastbound lane and shoulder, according to the State Patrol.
Shea and the 17-year-old girl each were taken to OMC in Port Angeles, the State Patrol said.
Shea was cited for second-degree negligent driving, the agency added.
Both drivers wore seat belts. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the State Patrol said.
Both vehicles were totally destroyed and towed from the scene.
