Tapping the Elwha-Dungeness plan

Recommendations from the Elwha-Dungeness Watershed Plan:

* Emphasize water conservation.

* Protect in-stream flows for fish habitat.

* Continue irrigation water management.

* Encourage new water be served by community water systems.

* Require new development to be served by public water systems rather than individual wells.

* Regionalize new public water service in the watershed area to meet new demand largely from the existing Elwha River.

* Investigate groundwater supply for a new east watershed supply. Focus on groundwater and water gained through savings or management.

* Take advantage of water reclamation or reuse.

* Study new water storage.
