Statewide, regional candidates file

The following regional and statewide candidates have filed for elective office.

■ Democrat Timmy Wilson of Seattle, Republican Glen Stockwell of Ritzville and Reform Party candidate Will Baker of Tacoma filed Friday for the position held by Democratic U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell of Mountlake Terrace, who is seeking re-election.

Also running for the position are Republicans Chuck Jackson of Snohomish, Michael Baumgartner of Kirkland, Art Coday of Shoreline and Mike the Mover of Mill Creek.

■ Republican Stephan Andrew Brodhead of Tacoma and Eric G. Arentz Jr. of Tacoma, an independent, filed Friday for the 6th Congressional District seat held by 18-term Democrat Norm Dicks, who is not seeking re-election.

Also running for the position is Democrat Derek Kilmer, a Port Angeles native, and Republicans Jesse Young, David Eichner, Bill Driscoll and Doug Cloud, all of Tacoma.

■ Republican State Attorney Gen. Rob ­McKenna filed late Thursday afternoon for the position held by Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire, who is not seeking re-election.

Filing Friday for the governor position were James White of Marysville, an independent, and Christian Joubert, who did not state a party preference.

Also running for the governor position are Republicans Shahram Hadian of Mill Creek, Javier Lopez of Lacey and Max Sampson of Black Diamond; Democrats Jay Inslee of Seattle and Rob Hill of Shoreline; and L. Dale Sorgen, an independent.

■ James Robert Deal, who did not state a party preference, filed late Thursday for the position held by Democratic Lt. Gov. Brad Owen, who is seeking re-election.

Filing Friday for the position were Democracy Independent Party candidate Mark Greene of Bellevue and Neopopulist Party candidate Dave T. Sumner IV of Kalama.

Republicans Glenn Anderson of Issaquah and Bill Finkbeiner of Bellevue also are running for the position.

■ David J. Anderston, who did not state a party preference, filed for the secretary of state position held by Republican Sam Reed, who is not seeking re-election.

Also filing for the position were Democrats Jim Kastama of Tacoma, Kathleen Drew of Olympia and Greg Nickels of Seattle; Republican Kim Wyman of Lacey; Constitution Party candidate Karen Murray of Quincy; and Human Rights Party candidate Sam Wright of Olympia.

■ Republican James Watkins of Kirkland and Democrats Troy Kelley of Lakewood, Craig Pridemore of Vancouver, Wash., and Mark Miloscia of Federal Way are running for the state auditor position held by Democrat Brian Sonntag, who is not running for re-election.

■ Republicans Reagan Dunn of Bellevue and Stephen Pidgeon of Everett, and Democrat Bob Ferguson of Seattle have filed for the position of state attorney general held by Republican Rob McKenna, who is running for governor.

■ Republican Clint Didier of Pasco and Stephen Sharon of Seattle, who did not state a party preference, filed Friday for the position held by Democratic Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark, who is seeking re-election.

■ Ronald Higgins of Richland filed Friday for the nonpartisan position of superintendent of public instruction held by Randy Dorn, who is running for re-election.

James Bauckman of Bellingham, John Patterson Blair of Vashon and Don Hansler of Spanaway also have filed for the position.

■ Democratic state Insurance Commissioner Mark Kreidler of Olympia filed for re-election to a position also sought by Republicans John Adams of Seattle and Scott Reilly of Medina, as well as Brian Berend, an independent.

■ Supreme Court Justice Position 2 incumbent Susan Owens, a former Forks District Court 2 judge, is running for re-election against Douglas McQuaid and Scott Stafne of Seattle.

■ Bruce Danielson of Port Orchard filed Friday for the Supreme Court Justice Position 8 seat held by incumbent Steve Gonzalez, who is seeking re-election.

■ Sheryl Gordon McCloud, Bruce Hilyer, John Ladenburg of Seattle and former state Supreme Court Justice Richard Sanders of Olympia are running for the state Supreme Court justice Position 9 seat being vacated by Justice Tom Chambers.

■ Pamela Loginsky of Port Orchard, Michael Lynch of Tumwater, Thomas E. Weaver Jr. of South Colby and Thomas Bjorgen, Jim Foley and Brendan Williams of Olympia are seeking the Division 2, District 2 state Court of Appeals seat that covers Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor, Kitsap, Mason and Thurston counties.
