Sequim carriers will collect food May 16.
The drive benefiting area food banks is part of the 23rd annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive.
The Sequim drive takes place a week later to accommodate the Sequim Irrigation Festival, which celebrates its grand finale this weekend.
Postal carriers will pick up donations of nonperishable food in Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Port Hadlock, Chimacum and Forks on Saturday.
Bags of food can be left in or around mailboxes.
Monetary donations are also welcome. Checks should be made out to the local food bank.
As in past years, the food banks’ greatest need for donated food is for canned fish and meats, canned chili and pastas, beans, rice and other staples, as well as peanut and other nut butters, but all varieties of nonperishable foods are welcome.
