PORT ANGELES — A 49-year-old Sequim man has been sentenced to two years probation after pleading guilty to three counts of delivery of methamphetamine.
Lawrence R. “Russ” Moorman was sentenced March 26 for selling meth to an Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team informant in March and April of last year.
OPNET Supervisor Jason Viada said Moorman sold about three grams of methamphetamine for $200 on March 29, 25 grams for $970 on April 12 and 30 grams — just more than an ounce — for $1,100 on April 19.
All of the sales were in and around Port Angeles.
Moorman originally was charged with four counts of selling methamphetamine, but the fourth charge was dismissed as a result of his guilty plea March 12.
“The Moorman case is a good example of OPNET facilitating the capture and prosecution of people in our community who choose to distribute dangerous drugs,” Viada said.
OPNET is a multi-jurisdictional drug-fighting team composed of Clallam and Jefferson County law enforcement officers.
