SEQUIM — Rapid growth of its membership has stretched the financial resources of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula, and made it necessary to raise more than $310,000.
“I’m a treasure hunter,” said Suzanne Little, executive director of the clubs in Sequim and Port Angeles.
The board of directors recently approved the 2002 operating budget that includes a Community Commitment Campaign totaling $200,000 and a Capital Campaign totaling $110,000 to fund continued services.
The club’s 2002 operating budget is just more than $700,000.
The construction of a new building in Sequim and opening the Port Angeles club has doubled the number of members, from 600 to 1,200.
