Ribbon cutting set for EV charging stations in Sequim

Published 1:30 am Sunday, October 6, 2019

The City of Sequim and the Public Utility District (PUD) No. 1 of Clallam County plan a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the new public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at East Washington Street and North Govan Avenue, set for noon Friday.

The charging stations that can be used by EVs and plug-in hybrids are the result of a collaboration between the two organizations.

The project, city officials said, was designed to meet a number of goals: to fill a need for public EV chargers on the North Olympic Peninsula; meet sustainability objectives by encouraging lower emissions technologies; meet economic development objectives by inviting EV drivers from out of town to the community and to keep Sequim “clean and green.”
