Powerball lottery jackpot rises to $200 million

Washington state’s newest multi-state lottery game, Powerball, has crossed the double-century mark.

Because nobody on Wednesday night matched all six numbers drawn — 17-21-37-41-50 Powerball: 1 — the jackpot in Saturday night’s drawing will be an estimated $200 million.

That’s currently the biggest lottery jackpot in the world.

Washington state joined the Powerball lottery in January. It’s similar to another multi-state game, Mega Millions, which in the past has climbed to more than $300 million in its cumulative jackpot.

The Mega Millions jackpot for the game to be drawn Friday night is $20 million.
