PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend High School Interact Club recently donated $600 to Dove House and $500 to Rwandan Grandmas.

Dove House provides free, confidential crisis intervention and advocacy services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and general crime in Jefferson County.

Rwandan Grandmas is a Rotarian organization that provides economic development opportunities for grandmothers in Rwanda who must raise their grandchildren because the parents died of AIDS.

Club members raised the funds by making and selling wreaths as part of the Port Townsend Rotary Club’s holiday wreath sale.

Club members also assisted at fundraisers for both of the club’s sponsoring organizations, the Port Townsend Sunrise Rotary and the Port Townsend Rotary Noon Club.

Interact members also planned and conducted a family game night for students at Blue Heron Middle School.
