Port Angeles City Council taking applications for seat

PORT ANGELES — A vacancy on the City Council must be filled by Sept. 28. The application period for that vacancy opened Wednesday.

Applicants have until 4 p.m. Aug. 4 to turn in their applications with cover letter and resume to the city clerk. The City Council will interview candidates and appoint a new council member during their meeting Sept. 2.

To be eligible, applicants must be a registered voter of the City of Port Angeles, must have continuously lived within Port Angeles city limits for a minimum of one year and must hold no other public office or employment under the city government.

Candidates are asked to submit an application, letter of intent and resume. Those interested can complete their application online at https://cityofpa.form. transform.civicplus.com/ 30224/.

A kiosk is available at City Hall for online application submission. Contact the city clerk or stop by City Hall, located at 321 E. 5th St., between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. if this service is needed.
