A 43-year-old Sequim man was injured Saturday night when the vehicle he was driving left the road and hit a power pole.

Edwin Anderson was westbound on Old Olympic Highway near Towne Road in a 1974 Chevrolet Stepvan when it crashed, reported Sgt. Monty Martin with Clallam County Sheriff’s Department. The van was destroyed, Martin said.

Anderson was transported to Olympic Memorial Hospital, Martin said. A nursing supervisor at the hospital declined to provide Anderson’s condition Sunday.

Martin said a Clallam County Public Utility crew was called in Saturday night to replace the power pole. Power went uninterrupted, although the power pole was destroyed, he said.
