PORT ANGELES — Proposed sites for the city’s new swimming pool will be on display tonight beginning at 7 at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.
City officials will available to answer questions about siting and operating the proposed replacement for the 44-year-old William Shore Memorial Pool at 225 E. Fifth St.
A presentation will begin at 7:15 p.m. and last about 30 minutes. Then residents can talk informally with the project’s staff.
Residents also can provide written and verbal comments, which will be summarized and included on the project’s future Web site, accessed through the city’s Web site, www.cityofpa.us.
The city has four potential sites on city property between Fourth and Fifth streets and Lincoln and Peabody streets. The proposed site plans will be on display at the open house.
The city has proposed building a new building on city property adjacent to the current pool site.
YMCA proposal
The Clallam County Family YMCA also has presented a proposal to build a new pool onto its existing building and jointly operate it with the city.
It would be built south of the YMCA’s existing building at 302 S. Francis St., across an existing alley.
