PORT ANGELES — A survey closes at noon today on possible aspects of a Port Angeles master plan for City Pier.
More than 70 people attended open house design studios May 12-14 to provide input on possibilities for City Pier.
Studio Cascade designers whittled comments down to two semifinal designs, which have been open for further public comment via an online survey.
The responses to the survey will be used to refine a single, final recommendation from the design team.

PC creative writing class reading in PA
PORT ANGELES — Students from Dr. Janet Lucas’ creative writing class will read from their original works at Peninsula College in the Little Theater, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., at 12:35 p.m. today.
The students’ works will represent a wide variety of literary genres and styles. Most are fiction, with topics ranging from science fiction, gangsters and undiscovered tribes to unrequited love.
One student will play music to the song lyrics he wrote.
The readers will be John Bailey, Dylan Eekhoff, Clara Hill, Ethan Hoch, Forrest Maynock, Nguyen Khuong Duy, Annie Robertson and Jayden Sparhawk.
The event is free and open to the public.

Tea party benefit
PORT ANGELES — Healthy Families of Clallam County will host a private tea party luncheon benefit at 562 Sunset Heights at noon Friday.
In addition to the garden luncheon, there will be a silent auction.
The suggested donation is $25.
Proceeds will benefit the HFCC’s Children’s Advocacy Center.

Rummage sale set
SEQUIM — Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., will hold its annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Items that will be available include jewelry, tools, furniture, appliances, clothing, books, plants and toys.
Proceeds support the church’s community projects.

Free museum day
PORT TOWNSEND — Three museums in Jefferson County will hold a free day Saturday.
The Jefferson Museum of Art and History, 540 Water St.; the Commanding Officer’s Quarters at Fort Worden, 200 Battery Way; and the Rothschild House Museum, 540 Water St., will offer free admission for Jefferson County residents.
Free Day at the Museums is the first Saturday of every month and is supported by the Port Townsend Arts Commission.
Flag celebration
SEQUIM — The Olympic Peninsula Chapter No. 539 of the National Sojourners and Heroes of the ’76 and Camp Followers will hold a public celebration of the American flag at the Sequim Masonic Lodge, 700 S. Fifth Ave., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Sojourners will be dressed in full Revolutionary War military regalia and present “Salute to the Flag” and the full ceremonies of lowering, retiring and raising the flag.
In addition, the Camp Followers with the Heroes of ’76 will present the history of the flag.
The event is free and open to the public.
Refreshments will be available.
Attendees are welcome to bring old flags and will be shown how to properly retire them.
