One person was airlifted to a hospital after a motorcycle collided with a car at milepost 2 on state Highway 112 east of Neah Bay.
Eduard A. Kononov, 24, of Algona was riding his black 2007 GSX-R600 motorcycle eastbound at milepost 1.5 about 8:20 p.m. Sunday when he lost control a tight curve to the right and struck a white 2007 Chevy Express passenger van driven by Colin W. Greene, 50, of Neah Bay, according to the State Patrol.
Kononov was ejected from his motorcycle and slid under the van.
Both he and the van came to rest on the westbound shoulder.
The collision was attributed to speeding, the State Patrol said.
It was unknown whether drugs or alcohol was involved.
Kononov was wearing a helmet but was airlifted to Providence Regional Medical Center’s Colby campus in Everett.
His condition was not known as of Monday afternoon.
Greene was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
Greene’s passenger, Allan J. Irving, 49, of Neah Bay, also was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
Kononov’s motorcycle was destroyed and towed from the scene.
