PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School Board will discuss a design update of the Monroe Playfield when it meets at SD Athletic Field.
The meeting will be open to the public at the Lincoln Center, 905 W. Ninth St., in Room 208, and will be offered on live feed via YouTube here.
Derrick Eberle, landscape architect, will present design updates on the playfield.
The concept is of a 360-foot-by-210-foot field of synthetic turf, striped to allow for football, soccer and a 200-foot softball outfield.
It is to be built in the former footprint of Monroe Elementary, which was decommissioned in 2004 and demolished in 2017.
It will be near Roosevelt Elementary and funded through a $52.6 million capital improvement levy passed by school district voters in 2020.
Board members also will consider various policies such as substitute employment.
