PORT TOWNSEND — A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning on state Highway 104 near Wahl Lake Road.
The incident happened at 2:43 a.m. between Wahl Lake and Sandy Shore Lake roads.
Elijah B. Benbow, 36, of Puyallup was walking east on Highway 104 when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Richard Hale, 42, of Tukwila. Benbow was declared dead at the scene.
Benbow was wearing all-black clothing, according to the report.
No charges have been filed and the State Patrol report states it is unknown if any drugs or alcohol were involved.
State Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said Sunday the agency had just started the investigation into the incident.
