Maintenance projects on U.S. Highway 101 could cause delays for drivers as they meet flaggers guiding drivers through one-lane alternating traffic this week.
Three projects could narrow traffic to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
They are:
• Brush cutting along both lanes of the highway 5 miles west of Sequim between Shore and Dryke roads, from Mileposts 257 to 259.
• Debris removal from both shoulders of the highway between the Morse Creek Bridge and Shore Road, from Mileposts 251 to 257.
• Guardrail and shoulder cleaning on lanes of the highway between the Queets River Bridge and Big Cedar Road, from Mileposts 152 to 163.
Guardrail repair could reduce travel to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday on the highway at Buckhorn Road at Milepost 300.8 in the Mount Walker vicinity.
Also this week, crews are installing a new sidewalk along state Highway 112 near Clallam Bay between Murphy Road and Charlie Creek-Weel Road. No impact to traffic is expected.
Closures on the Hood Canal Bridge right now are only for the opening of the drawspan for boats. Marine traffic is not announced in advance.
Beginning May 10, the state will conduct federallyrequired annual inspections on the bridge.
The inspections, which include a review of all systems, will require about three weeks of short-duration daytime and nighttime openings.
