Jefferson Transit Authority Board members are considering forming a policy on transit bus advertising.
Previously, there hasn’t been a policy in place, just a contract with advertising agency Obi Media of Portland, Ore., Jefferson Transit Manager Dave Turissini said.
The policy under consideration will take freedom of speech, libel and accountability into mind when advertisers place issue-related ads.
A Port Townsend Peace Movement anti-war advertisement, which was accepted by the Board at their meeting on Tuesday, brought the lack of a policy to light, Turissini said.
