PORT TOWNSEND — A local resident will ask a senate committee in Olympia today to back two bills legalizing the use of four-wheeled electric vehicles on public roads.
Roderick Wilde, president of EV Parts Inc., said he will testify before the committee about neighborhood electric vehicles and deliver a letter, approved unanimously Tuesday by the City Council supporting the two bills.
Mayor Kees Kolff may even show up at the hearing, which will take place at 3:30 p.m., Hearing Room B, J.L. O’Brien Building, on the Capitol campus in Olympia, he said.
“It’s good for the air,” Wilde said Wednesday of the proposed electric car law. “It’s good for the water. It’s really a no-brainer.”
