Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners Dan Toepper, left, Ken Collins and Jeff Randall, along with PUD advisor Don McDaniels and PUD General Manager Kevin Streett break ground for the expansion and remodel of the agency’s operations facility at 310 4 Corners Road this week.
Hoch Construction of Port Angeles is leading the project and Streett hopes to have the building reopened between late 2020 and early 2021.
The existing 1970s-era operations center has been closed since October and will be gutted and remodeled for employee office space.
A 4,500-square-foot addition will house public meeting space and a customer service center as well as additional office space.
