SHINE — The Hood Canal Bridge will be closed to vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians overnight for four days beginning Saturday.
Contractors for the state Department of Transportation are working on repairs that are part of the center lock rehabilitation project.
The bridge will be closed for 12 hours from 10 p.m. Saturday through 10 a.m. Sunday.
The bridge also will be closed from 11 p.m. Monday through 4 a.m. Tuesday; from 11 p.m. Tuesday through 4 a.m. Wednesday; and from 11 p.m. Wednesday through 4 a.m. Thursday.
The bridge will be open for traffic on Sunday night into Monday morning.
The next closures will be in June. They are:
• June 10-14 (10 p.m. Saturday, June 10, to 10 a.m. Sunday, June 11; 11 p.m. Monday, June 12, to 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 13; 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 14; and, 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, to 4 a.m. Thursday, June 15)
• June 17-June 21 (10 p.m. Saturday, June 17, to 10 a.m. Sunday, June 18; 11 p.m. Monday, June 19, to 4 a.m. Tuesday, June 20; 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 21; and, 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, to 4 a.m. Thursday, June 22).
Additional work on the project is set to begin Monday, Sept. 10, and may also require night-time closures.
