Hiking essentials

BRINNON — Dixie Havlak will present “Hiking Essentials” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Havlak at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101.

Havlak will discuss the 10 essentials important for any hike, review gear and clothing to bring and discuss ways to choose the best hike based on skill level and interest.

Havlak also will outline Leave No Trace ethics.
