PORT ANGELES — A ceremony honoring Vietnam War veterans is planned on March 29 on National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
Representatives from the Northwest Veterans Resource Center and Michael Trebert Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host the presentation at 2 p.m. at the Northwest Veterans Resource Center, 216 S. Francis St., Port Angeles.
Levi Douglas, veterans’ program coordinator with the Clallam County-Northwest Veterans Resource Center, and Holly Rowan, Clallam County Veterans Association president, will lead the event of appreciation with a short ceremony inside the building.
American Legion Post 29 Flag Line will greet guests, with the Cat’s Meow providing live patriotic prelude music.
Event organizers also will honor surviving spouses and their families.
The community is invited to help thank and honor the veterans.
Lapel pins are available from the Department of Defense to recognize, thank and honor all U.S. Vietnam veterans who served on active duty between Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location.
