EYE ON THE PENINSULA: Public hearings set on proposed 2025 budgets

Meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

Legislative priorities, a public health update and budget hearings will be before Peninsula boards and commissions next week.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss their legislative priorities with members of the 24th Legislative District during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners will discuss litigation, or potential litigation, and collective bargaining in executive session during a special meeting at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners also will conduct a public hearing regarding the proposed 2025 budget during a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

• Resolutions appointing or reappointing members of various volunteer boards and commissions.

• A review of the noxious weeds roadside integrated weed management plan.

• Memorandum of understanding with Clallam County Public Works for a $940,000 Opportunity Fund grant for the Clallam Bay and Middle Point pump stations replacement project.

• Resolution establishing the 2025 levy rates for Veteran’s Relief, at $0.01125 per $1,000 of assessed value; Developmental Disabilities, $0.025 per $1,000; and Land Assessment Fund, $0.0012 per $1,000.

• Certification of taxing district levy budgets to the county assessor.

• An amended agreement with Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County for American Rescue Plan Act funds.

• An addendum to the agreement with Forks Police Department to allow for administrative support or training.

• Agreement with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife to assist with implementation of the McDonald Creek fish passage and irrigation project.

• Resolution authorizing expenditures from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund for the approved 2025 Lodging Tax funding applications.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will hear a monthly update on public health and emergency management from Dr. Allison Berry and Willie Bence when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners may retire to executive session for a portion of this meeting.
