EYE ON THE PENINSULA: Peninsula board to discuss timber revenues

Meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula.

Timber revenues, an opportunity fund and a weekly update on COVID-19 will be discussed by Peninsula boards and commissions this week.

Clallam County Commissioners

The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss opportunity fund strategies with the county’s Opportunity Fund Board during their weekly work session Monday and weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners also will discuss second quarter timber revenues during a joint meeting with the state Department of Natural Resources at 1 p.m. Monday.

• An amended agreement with the state Recreation and Conservation Office for $457,594 in funding.

• A briefing on the Cyclomedia estimate for capturing street level imagery of county roads and right-of-ways.

• An agreement with U.S. Department of Transportation and the state Department of Transportation for $3.75 million of a $16.13 million RAISE grant for the Puget Sound to Pacific multi-use trail.

• An agreement with Puget Sound Restoration Fund to conduct synoptic dive surveys of pinto abalone populations in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

• Agreements with North Olympic Land Trust for Conservation Futures grants totalling $2,660,000 for Cameron Farm Estates, Heifer Farm North and Heifer Farm South.

• Award of a $1,385,000 bid for the south Airport Road paving project to Lakeside Industries, Inc.

• Opening of proposals for a low-income housing planning consultant to update the county’s homelessness crisis response and housing plan.
