Government meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will hear an update on mature forests in Clallam County from a community group during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners also will discuss the Collaborative Asset Management Outreach Project during a joint meeting with the Department of Natural Resources at 1 p.m.

• An amended contract with Correctional Healthcare Companies, LLC for $611,374 to provide the medical program for the county jail.

• An update to membership on the Dungeness River Management Team.

• A request to transfer ownership of a portion of West Sequim Bay Road to the city of Sequim.

• A resolution to approve the six-year transportation improvement plan.

• Notice of a public hearing to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, regarding the proposed 2024 county budget; the proposed budget will be published Friday, Nov. 17, and Friday, Nov. 24.

• A memorandum of understanding with the city of Forks regarding the Opportunity Fund Program and the $2,375,610 award to the city for its waste water treatment plant.

• An agreement with the state Recreation and Conservation Office $25,000 to purchase new canoes for Camp David Jr. and improve aquatic safety at the camp.

• An agreement with Trout Unlimited for two fish barrier removal projects under Wisen Creek Road and another under Swede Road.

• An amended agreement with the Clallam Economic Development Council to align the agreement with actual expenditure of American Rescue Plan Act funds spent in preparation for closing the EDC’s Lifeboat grant program.

• An agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for a $125,00o community wildfire defense grant for the emergency management division of the Sheriff’s Office.

• Clarification regarding the call for bids to provide courthouse security; bids will still be due no later than 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, but will not be opened until Nov. 21 commissioners’ meeting.

• A notice of a public hearing to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, regarding general purpose property tax, road fund property tax and conservation futures levies.

Items on the consent agenda include a memorandum of agreement with Teamsters Local No. 589 regarding commissioned deputies in the sheriff’s office; a commitment letter for the Department of Community Development regarding a climate planning grant application; an agreement with the Secretary of State regarding VoteWA data sharing; an agreement with Aegis Land Title Group, LLC to digitally scan fee and cash books; agreements with Cascadia Community Connections for $231,286 for group employment services and community inclusion services; and an agreement with Jefferson Healthcare for $73,438 for school-based mental health services.
