Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement with the Port Angeles Waterfront Center for $300,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds for construction of the $56 million Field Arts and Events Hall in Port Angeles in their weekly work session Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Tuesday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• An update on the geographic information service upgrade project from Chad Theismann.

• An amended agreement with the Olympic Consortium for workforce development.

• An update on the county’s legislative priorities, projects and programs.

• Several resolutions appointing members to various volunteer boards and commissions.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will hear an update on the planning process for a replacement solid waste facility when they meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The commissioners will hear a public health and emergency management update from Dr. Allison Berry, health officer for Jefferson and Clallam counties, and Willie Bence, director of emergency management and will conduct a public hearing regarding repealing and replacing ordinance 78-99: Courthouse Security.

Items on the consent agenda include a resolution to establish a new department in the general fund for therapeutic courts, an agreement with USAWA Consulting for $23,779 to conduct an anti-racist literacy workshop, an agreement with Community Build for $20,000 for tiny shelters at the Caswell-Brown Village and an agreement with the state Recreation and Conservation Office for an additional right-of-way for the Anderson Lake Connection on the Olympic Discovery Trail.
