Government meetings across the North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider a resolution designating 2024 commissioner assignments on advisory boards during their weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, usually set on Monday but postponed because of the New Year’s holiday, at 9 a.m. Tuesday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• A letter of support for a Home Depot Foundation grant.

• Approval of five properties into the open space tax program.

• Approval of seven funding recommendations from the Development Disabilities Advisory Committee totaling $305,023.

• An agreement with Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County for $500,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding for Phase I of an affordable housing development in Sequim.

Jefferson County

Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Conservation Futures Program project applications at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The hearing is part of a general meeting that usually begins at 9 a.m. Monday in the commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse at 1820 Jefferson St. It will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday because of the New Year’s Day holiday.

The public hearing is to take comments on the three projects submitted for consideration during the 2023 conservation futures funding cycle. Conservation futures funds available totals $230,000. The total amount requested for the Lower Chimacum Creek Mainstem Acquisitions, North Barry Snow Creek, and Schmidt Farm projects is $186,000.

Call for bids for Center Road overlay project; contract award to Interwest Construction, Inc., for Phase 2 Membrane Bioreactor Wastewater Treatment Plant for Port Hadlock UGA; and a variety of agreements including for legislative representation and lobbying services, $72,000 per year; public infrastructure funding for JCIA Eco-Industrial Park, $350,000; public infrastructure funding for Port Hadlock Sewer debt service, $85,000 per year for 20 years; public infrastructure funding for Glen Cove Infrastructure Feasibility and Design, $250,000; fish barrier culvert replacements at three sites on Upper Hoh Road and two sites on Oil City Road, $53,754; Cassel Creek Bridge cleaning on Oil City Road, $20,159; state Highway 104/Paradise Bay roundabout detours haul road/detour for 104/state Highway 19 roundabout with work to take place between April 1 and July 30.
