EYE ON JEFFERSON: City Council plans retreat on Port Townsend budget

The Port Townsend City Council will conduct a budget retreat today and a short special meeting Tuesday.

Both meetings will be at the Cotton Building, 607 Water St.

Today’s retreat will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., while Tuesday’s will be from 3 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

A discussion of the 2016 budget is the only agenda item for Today’s retreat.

During Tuesday’s special meeting, the council will consider awarding a $24,425 contract to Stripe Rite of Sumner to paint city streets.

Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, are set from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

Other city committee meetings, set at City Hall, 250 Madison St., are:

■ Civil Service Commission — 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, second-floor conference room.

■ Arts Commission — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, third-floor conference room.

■ Nonmotorized Transportation and Advisory Board — 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, first-floor conference room.

Jefferson Healthcare

Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will hear a Washington State Hospital Association update from its CEO, Scott Bond, at a meeting Wednesday.

The meeting will be at 3:30 p.m. in the third-floor conference room, 2500 W. Sims Way.

Board of Commissioners

The three Jefferson County commissioners will not meet this week.
