Clallam County commissioners will consider a lease extension with the Port of Port Angeles for the COVID-19 Social Distancing Center at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The facility near William R. Fairchild International Airport in west Port Angeles serves homeless people who cannot maintain 6 feet of physical distance and those who have symptoms of COVID-19.
The county’s current lease for the port’s 1010 building expires Friday.
Commissioners will consider extending the lease to Dec. 31. The rent would be $15,000 per month, according to the proposal.
Other agenda items for the business meeting include:
• A land purchase agreement for the Towne Road dike relocation project.
• An amended agreement with the state County Road Administration Board for a rural arterial program project.
• Agreements with Aldergrove Construction Inc. of Port Angeles for improvements at the Clallam County jail and the county building on Third Street.
• An agreement with Response Technologies, Ltd. for a panic alarm upgrade.
• A memorandum of understanding with Social Security Administration for suspending benefits to individuals during incarceration.
• Agreements with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe for law enforcement services and annual compensation.
• An agreement with the state Department of Commerce for Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) positions, goods and services.
• An agreement with Rich Sill for the county administrator and human resources director positions.
• A call for Aug. 11 hearing on proposed changes to investment policy.
• A resolution adopting supplemental appropriations.
• A public hearing for consideration of debatable budget emergencies.
Commissioners will conduct their weekly work session at 9 a.m. Monday.
Discussion items include:
• An agreement with Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP) for residential rent and mortgage assistance.
• An 11 a.m. discussion on Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding.
• A notice of Aug. 25 public hearing on a resolution authorizing the sale of county tax title property and setting terms of sale.
• An agreement with the state Military Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for an emergency management performance grant.
• A contact amendment with the state Department of Commerce to provide ancillary therapeutic services to youth.
• A contract amendment with Salish Behavioral Health Organization for support of therapeutic courts.
• An agreement with the state Administrative Office of the Courts for a family and juvenile court improvement plan.
• A support letter and application with the state Recreation and Conservation Office for a recreational trails program.
• A resolution for allocation of 2021 federal surface transportation block grant funding.
• A call for bids for Laird Road improvements.
• An agreement with the state Department of Ecology relating to the Shoreline Master Program.
• A resolution appointing Travis Hedin to the Behavioral Health Program Fund Advisory Board.
• A resolution appointing Lance Vail, Harold Kline and Ioan Bociu to the Marine Resources Committee.
• Agreements with New Dungeness Light Station, Sequim Museum, Port Angeles Fine Arts Center and North Olympic History Center for the Heritage Grant program.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will discuss COVID-19-related revenue impacts and budget goals for 2021 in a virtual work session at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Sequim city
The Sequim City Council will review utility rate structure options during a work session at 5 p.m. and conduct public hearings at a regular session at 6 p.m. Monday.

The council also will consider a criminal justice cost allocation study and an anti-racism and discrimination public engagement system.
Forks city
The Forks City Council will consider creating a city liaison with the Hoh Tribe when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Public Utility District
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will hear an update on EV charging stations when they meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
