EYE ON CLALLAM: Board to eye new code on use of ATVs

The three Clallam County commissioners will conduct a public hearing to consider creating a new chapter in county code for the operation of wheeled all-terrain vehicles Tuesday.

The hearing will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Commissioners will begin their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Agenda items include:

â–  A contract amendment with the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs and Friendship Diversion Services extending an agreement to Sept. 30.

â–  A contract amendment with Cedar Grove updating Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery contract language.

â–  Agreements with Reflections Counseling Services Group to provide substance abuse treatment services to unfunded adult clients and intervention and family support services to those with addicted family members.

â–  A contract amendment with Reflections Counseling Services Group updating Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery contract language.

■ Agreement with Jamestown S’Klallam tribe for an Olympia oyster restoration project.

â–  A request for proposals for a mental health and substance abuse intervention program in public schools.

â–  A resolution for appointments and designation of members on the Washington Counties Risk Pool.

â–  A resolution adopting supplemental appropriations and a budget revision.

â–  A public hearing on debatable budget emergencies.

An executive session is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday to allow the board to discuss with staff litigation or potential litigation.

Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday for their weekly work session.

Dr. Tim Walsh, chief hazards geologist for the state Department of Natural Resources, will provide a briefing on the Lake Creek/Lake Boundary fault.

The board also will discuss a conceptual draft interlocal agreement for the Clallam County Economic Infrastructure Council.

Clallam PUD

Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a resolution establishing a district policy on interconnection of electric-generating facilities with a maximum generating capacity of less than or equal to 20 megawatts Monday.

The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Port Angeles main office, 2431 E. U.S. Highway 101.

Also at the meeting, staff will provide an update on the district’s safety program and communication activities.

Charter review

The Clallam County Charter Review Commission will conduct a public hearing in Port Angeles on Monday.

The hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St.

Planning Commission

The Clallam County Planning Commission will continue to review and develop recommended draft zoning regulations for recreational marijuana producers, processors and retailers Wednesday.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse.

Commission members also will review a draft Clallam County Shoreline Master Program update and public comments received.

Olympic Medical Center

Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider awarding a bid for construction of a medical office building when they meet Wednesday.

Commissioners will meet at 12:30 p.m. in Linkletter Hall in the basement of Olympic Medical Center, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.

They will conduct an executive session to discuss lease or purchase of real estate.

Commissioners also will hear a 2015-17 strategic plan update from CEO Eric Lewis and hear reports on quality management system policies and on a diagnostic imaging PACs (picture archiving and communication) system purchase.
