■ Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce — Twice-monthly luncheon meetings are held on the first and third Mondays at noon in the second-floor meeting room of the Red Lion Hotel, 221 N. Lincoln St.
Today’s meeting will be split on two different topics:
First half: A ceremony in advance of Memorial Day to armed forces members who gave their lives in service to their country. Scheduled speakers are Gary Velie, Clallam County Veterans Association president; Scott Buck, American Legion Walter Akeley Post 29 commander; and Ralph Ellsworth, American Legion Riders director.
Second half: A discussion of Platypus Marine Inc.’s proposal to purchase Port of Port Angeles-owned land for company expansion. Speakers will be Marty Marchant, Platypus sales and marketing director, and Jim Hallett, port commissioner.
Tickets for the luncheon are $15 and can be purchased from the meeting room cashier.
For those not having lunch, there is a $3 participation fee that includes a beverage.
■ Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce — Weekly luncheon meetings are held Mondays at noon at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St.
Today’s program will be on charitable giving.
Scheduled speakers will be:
✔ Lynne Herer Smith, deputy director of investment workflow on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation finance and strategy team, on the topic “Lean Thinking in the Philanthropic World.”
✔ Aiko D. Bethea, Gates Foundation deputy director of grants and contracts management.
✔ Jessica Hoffman, Gates Foundation senior business analyst for investment workflow.
Following the hourlong chamber luncheon meeting, a workshop on nonprofits will be conducted. Participants are asked to contact Carla Caldwell at info@jccfgives.org.

■ Forks Chamber of Commerce — Luncheon meetings are Wednesdays at noon at JT’s Sweet Stuffs, 80 N. Forks Ave.
This Wednesday’s program speaker will be Kevin Hoult, North Peninsula Small Business Development Center-certified adviser, on “What Color is Glass?”
Lunch costs $8; a bowl of soup, $4.75; and a cup of soup, $4. The entree is chef salad.
■ North Hood Canal Chamber of Commerce — Representing the “Emerald Towns” of the Hood Canal, Quilcene and Brinnon, the chamber meets on the third Monday of each month.
The group will meet today at 5:30 p.m. at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101, to hear Doug Hinton, manager of Dosewallips State Park, speak about the 425-acre park with more than two miles combined of saltwalter and freshwater shorelines in Brinnon.
■ Port Angeles Business Association — Breakfast meetings are Tuesdays at 7:30 a.m. at Joshua’s Restaurant, 113 DelGuzzi Drive, Port Angeles.
This Tuesday’s speaker will be Peninsula College women’s basketball coach Alison Crumb, whose team in March won the Northwest Athletic Conference championship and who is the reigning NWAC coach of the year.
Crumb will be accompanied by players who discuss their continuing careers and what Peninsula College means to them.
There is a $3 minimum charge by Joshua’s for those who do not order breakfast.
