SEQUIM — Clallam County Park & Recreation District No. 1 has a vacancy after a commissioner moved out of state.
Commissioner Chuck Nagel moved away, opening up a position on the commission that oversees the facility formerly known as the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center (SARC).
The deadline for application submission is Jan. 11.
The facility, at 610 N. Fifth Ave., continues to be owned by district residents and is leased for operation and maintenance to the Olympic Peninsula YMCA.
This is a two-year term that expires in December 2023. Applicants must be registered to vote and must live within the portion of the Sequim School District boundaries included within Clallam County.
The board meets quarterly and may also meet on occasion in special sessions.
Those interested in the role are asked to submit written statements indicating their interest in the position as well as their background and relevant experience.

After applications are reviewed, selected candidates will be interviewed by the commissioners at the quarterly regular meeting.
