FRESHWATER BAY — The dead whale that washed ashore Sunday night floated back into the Strait of Juan de Fuca overnight Monday, according to Lyndee Lapin, who owns a home and property above where the whale was first found.
“It’s not parked anymore,” Lapin said Tuesday afternoon.
“I got up (Tuesday) morning, looked out my dining room window and it was floating by.”
When she last saw it, the whale carcass was floating gently west — but not out to sea, Lapin said.
