Clallam Sheriff’s awards recognize local service

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office recently held an awards recognition dinner to recognize employees and volunteers for exceptional service during 2018.

Administrative specialist Sylvia Orth was named Employee of the Year, cold case volunteer Dale Jackson was named Volunteer of the Year and Lee Runion was named Search and Rescue Volunteer of the Year.

Other awards included:

• Lifesaving Award: Jim Dixon, Eric Morris and Stacy Sampson.

• Meritorious Service Award for Valor: William Cortani.

• Meritorious Service Awards: Paul Federline, Eric Morris, Alicia Newhouse, Stacy Sampson and Brandon Stoppani.

• Commendations: Alan Barnard, Ross Cameron, Tyler Cortani, Devin Dahl, Jim Dixon, Patrick Glass, James Gribbon, Julia Keegan, Sean Slowey, Jannell Walkup and Brandon Wessel.
