PORT ANGELES — Nate Adkisson has announced he is ending his campaign for Position 1 on the Port of Port Angeles Board of Commissioners.
In an email on Tuesday, Adkisson said his decision was due to complications related to Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, and it was made “after careful consideration, and on the advice of my doctor and in consultation with my family.”
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the supporters, friends, and volunteers who believed in this campaign and gave their time and energy to help move it forward,” he wrote. “Your encouragement has meant more than I can express.”
After Adkisson dropped out of the race, it has left incumbent Port commissioner Colleen McAleer unopposed in November’s general election.
