BUSINESS BRIEFS: Retailer REI seeking to unify in one complex in Bellevue . . . and other items

SEATTLE — Outdoors retailer REI is moving several hundred information-technology staffers to a satellite location in the Eastgate area of Bellevue, as it ponders whether it needs a whole new campus over the next few years.

The move comes in the wake of significant growth by the outdoor retailer, the largest consumer co-op in the country.

About 220 IT staffers will move to Bellevue this fall, and 60 more in 2016.

The Bellevue space will be REI’s fourth satellite location beyond its Kent complex, where it has been since the 1990s.

The drop-in, legal-advice event offers local people the chance to address legal issues in one-on-one consultations with volunteer lawyers.

It is intended to help those who are otherwise unable to financially access an attorney but is open to all who show up.

Volunteers will answer questions regarding family law, tenant/landlord, public assistance, estate, bankruptcy, employment and creditor issues.
