PORT ANGELES — Hartnagel Building Supply, 3111 E. U.S. Highway 101, is hosting a free Roofing Day Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Representatives will be on hand to answer questions about residential and commercial roofing, composite and metal roofing, torch down and flat roofs.

Tai chi introduction

SEQUIM — A free introductory meeting with Michael Gilman of Gilman Studio in Port Townsend will take place at the Sequim Gym, 145 E. Washington Ave., at noon Thursday.

Gilman is teaching a 12-week seminar on the 34-movement tai chi form, and this introduction event will discuss the topic of tai chi.

Spring quarter runs through June 5.

This week’s scheduled lineup:

■ Monday: In the first segment, Jodi Thies, mother of 9-year-old, who is the beneficiary of the funds raised by the Port Angeles High School Talent Show. Hayden was born with proximal focal femoral deficiency and will need a series of surgeries to correct her prosthetic leg.

In the second segment, Jim Moran, Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce president.

■ Tuesday: To be announced.

■ Wednesday: Port Angeles Police Chief Terry Gallagher.

■ Thursday: Forks City Attorney and Planner Rod Fleck discusses sustainable timber harvest levels.
