BREAKING NEWS: West End motel burns

A landmark motel on U.S. Highway 101 between Port Angeles and Lake Sutherland burned late Saturday night.

The front end of the 150-foot-long Indian Valley Motel building at 254371 Highway 101 — next to the equally landmark Granny’s Cafe — was fully involved in flames. Clallam County Fire District No. 2 units were first on the scene, and mutual aid assistance from other fire agencies was requested.

The cafe in a separate building next door was not on fire, staff photographer Keith Thorpe reported.
