PORT ANGELES — The author of more than 20 best-selling novels will speak about his latest work, Quake, at the Port Angeles Library on Thursday, March 19.
Patrick Carman will speak in a free presentation at 6:30 p.m. at the library at 2210 S. Peabody St.
Carmen’s books include Skeleton Creek, Pulse and The Land of Elyon.
Odyssey Bookshop of Port Angeles will have books available for purchase at the lecture.
Carman’s books for young adults and children have been translated into more than two dozen languages.
Quake tells the story of Dylan Gilmore and Faith Daniels, who have a special power called pulse — the ability to move objects with their minds.
In this final installment of the Pulse trilogy, Dylan and Faith try to save the world with a quake that could change the course of history.
Carman, who lives in Walla Walla with his family, spends his free time supporting literacy campaigns and community organizations.
Skeleton Creek, one of his most popular series, is a spooky adventure tale told in episodes that alternate between chapters in the books and online videos.
Similarly, Dark Eden is both a traditional book and a multimedia app that includes maps, videos, audio diaries and journal entries that tell the entire story.
Carman’s visit to the North Olympic Peninsula includes an appearance especially for Port Angeles sixth-graders at the Port Angeles Library.
He also will visit students at Port Angeles (Stevens) and Sequim middle schools.
His March 19 discussion at the library is made possible through the support of the Port Angeles Friends of the Library.
