Sea kayaker, author and adventurer to share experiences

Chris Duff will give two talks — one in Sequim, the second in Port Angeles — this weekend

Local sea kayaker, author and adventurer Chris Duff will discuss his experiences traveling the world’s oceans in small boats at two locations this weekend.

The first will be at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., at 6:30 p.m. today.

The second will be at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Following the seven years he spent as a deep-sea diver with the U.S. Navy, Duff has embarked on solo kayak trips across the North Atlantic; around Ireland, Great Britain, Iceland and New Zealand; and completed an 8,000-mile trek around the eastern third of the U.S. and Canada.

He is the author of “On Celtic Tides” and “Southern Exposure,” books that detail his solo kayaking journeys around Ireland and New Zealand’s South Island.

Both books are available for checkout at both libraries.

For a complete schedule of upcoming Clallam County Reads programs and events, visit www.nols.org, email Discover@nols.org or stop by a nearby library.
