Operation Candy Cane hits Port Angeles streets this week

Operation Candy Cane hits Port Angeles streets tonight to distribute candy canes and collect donations of food or money for local food banks. Santa and firefighters from Port Angeles Fire Department Local IAFF 656 will be making nightly runs through the week in their decorated 1956 Seagrave fire engine beginning at 5:30 p.m., according to a press release. Scheduled runs include:

Today – West of I and M Streets

Tuesday – I and L Streets to C Street

Wednesday – C Street to Lincoln Street

Thursday – Chase Street to Chambers Street

Friday – Jones Street to Golf Course Road

Saturday – Above Lauridsen Blvd.

Santa is equipped with a tracking device, organizers said, and nightly route updates will be available through Google Maps on the event’s Facebook page via facebook.com/PortAngelesFireDept.
