Building bridges at Railroad Bridge Park

Pedestrians and bicyclists make their way across a pair of new spans crossing the newly-restored flood plain of the Dungeness River at Railroad Bridge Park on Wednesday.

The two spans, which opened this week, eliminate a long detour for users of the Olympic Discovery Trail by restoring the link across the river.

An additional walkway, which is still under construction with an opening scheduled for later this fall, will link the trail to the outdoor patio of the recently-opened Dungeness River Nature Center.
