LETTER:US-Israel relationship

Our mainstream media has been downplaying U.S. responsibility for Gaza war crimes against civilians, journalists and U.N. workers.

As part of our nation’s unholy alliance with Israel, the U.S. shares full complicity with Israel in the slaughter of up to 22,000 Palestinians, predominantly children, women and elderly, in Gaza.

Those who survive the bombings do so only to face the torture of forced relocation, homelessness, starvation, dehydration and untreated disease.

U.S. leadership supports this horror show out of fear of the Israel lobby in the U.S.

Accordingly, U.S. leadership vows its unconditional and irrevocable bond with Israel regardless of its crimes.

The U.S. is equally responsible for the present carnage in Gaza because it has the power but refuses to sanction Israel militarily and economically for its crimes.

The subversive Israel lobby in the U.S. viciously attacks Americans, especially political leaders who question our relationship with Israel.

They include political campaign finance vengeance, false charges of antisemitism, employment and education blacklisting, and criminalizing the advocacy of sanctions against Israel for its crimes.

This has effectively prohibited debate in the U.S. about the U.S.-Israel relationship.

However, the U.S. is duty bound to monitor its entire relationship with Israel especially as Israel currently provokes wider, unnecessary and criminal wars to involve the U.S.

As it stands, the U.S. is committed to follow Israel into any war of its choosing.

U.S. leaders have placed the interests of Israel above those of the U.S.

It is time for a gut check, America.
