LETTER:Short term rentals

As is often the case the Port Angeles City Council is not honoring the will of its constituents.

The vast majority of city residents do not want short term rentals (STRs) capped at 100 units.

Capping STRs will not solve the housing shortage.

STRs will not be used for affordable housing.

STRs are not a nuisance.

Many retirees were planning on their STR to augment their retirement.

I thought we lived in a capitalistic society where the market determines the situation.

Capping STRs at 100 would greatly hurt our city, not help it.

We need a better plan than the one the city council is proposing.

How about the city comes up with a plan to work with developers to create more low income housing?
