LETTER:School security

Public schools should be safe havens for those who want an education.

The mayhem that sweeps across our world tragically affects everyone where shootings, carjackings and stealing from stores is commonplace.

Never have we seen anything resembling this and our youngsters wonder if this is what they’ve inherited.

Hospitals require safety where those entrusted wear uniforms that read “Security.”

Shouldn’t that be provided with every school, every day, by those capable of ensuring this?

Personnel could be retired police or those with a military background.

Quick response time is essential so that anyone contemplating such events would be quickly apprehended.
