Port Angeles City Council candidate Jim Haguewood admitted to the PDN that he knowingly violated municipal city code prohibiting his short-term rental. ( “PA council hopeful’s STR in an unpermitted zone,”PDN, Sept. 23)
Does Haguewood believe that all city residents should ignore any municipal code that they personally disagree with, or is that behavior he reserves for himself?
Is he running for city council just so he can change the current city code to one in his financial favor?
The Port Angeles city website lists among qualifications for city elective officers that they must “Learn and maintain a knowledge of laws and other legal procedures” and “Represent the City always, and demonstrate adherence to high ethical standards”.
Jim Haguewood doesn’t demonstrate the intent or ability to meet either requirement.
