The writer of the May 30 letter “Covert Racism” is correct in her assertion that racism plays a part in the abortion issue.
However, she is incorrect with conflating abortion with the pro-choice crowd.
This is understandable as most people don’t recognize the never talked about third wing of the abortion issue, the pro-abortionists.
This is where we find the racist element.
But abortion is not a mandate, it’s a choice, so how does racism work its way into this process?
The racist abortion agenda is achieved through impoverishment and, consequently, the lack of health care by the ways of political and social ostracization.
When your own life is near untenable, then an additional mouth to feed becomes untenable.
And we all know who the ostracized are.
Abortion aside, just check out the stats for our African-American pre/post maternal and infant mortality rates, it’s abysmal; worse than many third world countries.
Unfortunately, these behind the scenes racist abortion policies have been effective.
So, when it comes time to think, and to vote, remember who, singularly and collectively, embraces those “very fine people.”
