LETTER: Worthington Mansion upgrade in the works for Quilcene

If you’re passing through Quilcene, we would recommend that you take a slight detour on Columbia Street, just as you enter the town traveling south from Sequim.

There, you will see the Worthington Mansion, which was built in 1892 and is now being restored to its former glory by the Quilcene Historical Museum and the community.

The Victorian-style house has been a project for this little town for the past 5 years.

The goal is for the house to open as an event center in 2018 and as a component of Worthington Park, according to museum officials.

It’s wonderful to see what people can accomplish when they join together to preserve their history.
